Brooklyn Van Zandt is a singer-songwriter whose direct, soulful expressions in music capture what it's like to be young. Based in SoCal, Brooklyn booked a one-way flight from the suburbs of Texas carrying little else but big dreams. She plays the piano, guitar, and ukulele and started writing songs when she was 8 years old. Brooklyn's social media channels are her other stage, and there is something invitingly intimate about the way she connects with her fans and new audiences — snippets of her performances, singing covers, writing songs live ("What should I name this one?" she'll ask in the caption), and speaking-to-the-camera confessionals. There's classic teenager stuff, too — memes, prom dress shopping, TikTok dance challenges, crushes, and homework. Brooklyn was a contestant on the 2023 talent reality show The Debut: Dream Academy. A Netflix docuseries about the competition is currently in development and will air in Summer 2024, just in time for Brooklyn's new music.
